Bloom
Bitossi Home by Paula Cademartori

In 2019, Paula Cademartori collaborated with Bitossi Home during Milan Design Week, creating the Bloom collection, her first foray into the world of ceramics. The project introduced a series of one-of-a-kind decorative objects, including vases, containers, and cup covers, all inspired by the tropical flora of South America and the designer’s native Brazil. Through exuberant forms and rich ornamentation, the collection reinterpreted classical iconography with a playful and contemporary sensibility. The pieces were conceived to bring colour, functionality and a touch of irony into everyday interiors.

“This project was particularly meaningful to me because it marked my first exploration of ceramics and allowed me to express my identity through something that embodies my personal story: my roots, my perception of beauty, and my enduring passion for design and colour harmony.”

Floral motifs were combined with symmetrical decorative elements and expressive chromatic contrasts, creating what Paula described as a vision of “tropical luxury.” The palette ranged from warm and vibrant tones such as red and terracotta to softer pastel shades including sage green and lilac, balancing exuberance with refinement. The collection maintained a strong connection to the authenticity of untouched nature while embracing the visual language of contemporary design.

Among the presented works were the slender and symmetrical vases Alta Vas and Hydria Humilis, the spherical Amphora vase, the Operimentum Policum cup covers, and the Magna Repono and Parva Repono containers. The objects were showcased within a lively site-specific installation where the new creations interacted with the broader universe of Bitossi Home, further reinforcing Paula Cademartori’s multidisciplinary approach to design and decorative arts. During the launch event, every piece in the collection sold out, marking the project as an immediate commercial and critical success.
