No Land
Illulian by
Paula Cademartori

After two previous collaborations with Illulian, Paula Cademartori unveils her third collection for the brand: No Land. Presented during Salone del Mobile 2026, it reflects on the fluid identity of the contemporary world, “a land of everyone and no one.” Conceived as an imagined territory where geographical references dissolve, it expresses a free, emotional, and deeply personal visual language. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and atmospheres of Brazil, it transforms organic forms and shifting tones into immersive surfaces that evoke oceanic horizons, lush tropical forests, and sun-scorched terrains.

“The idea behind No Land was to explore the concept of aesthetic anarchy: a place where boundaries give way to absolute creative freedom, transforming the textile surface into an inner landscape.”

No Land unfolds through a single design interpreted in two distinct color variations, each inspired by a different Brazilian landscape and natural atmosphere, embodying its own visual narrative. Ilhabela explores the depth of blue tones, contrasted with the colors of dawn and sunset, recalling the wild beauty of the island of Ilhabela in São Paulo, a place defined by dramatic mountains, waterfalls, and dense vegetation. Atlântica pays homage to primordial nature and Brazilian roots through soft pink hues and layered botanical forms inspired by the Mata Atlântica, the rainforest stretching along Brazil’s coastline. Dreamlike and feminine, the landscape dissolves into an enchanted garden suspended in mist and clouds.

Handcrafted in Nepal using fine wool and silk, the rugs combine precious materials with highly sophisticated techniques. Multiple pile heights, intricate cut-outs, and a distinctive 45-degree cutting method create sculptural depth and dynamic light effects, enhancing chromatic contrasts and tactile richness. Designed to exist beyond traditional boundaries, No Land pieces can be displayed both on the floor and as wall hangings, transforming each rug into a versatile design object, part textile, part installation, and entirely a statement of contemporary artistry.
