Nike: Women's 10km Milano race bag by Paula Cademartori

In 2015, Paula Cademartori partnered with Nike to design the official race bag for the Milan edition of the Nike Women’s 10KM, one of the brand’s flagship global running events dedicated to women. Created exclusively for participants of the race, the project combined Paula’s distinctive visual language with Nike’s celebration of sport, energy, and female empowerment. Working on a black-and-white canvas, she developed two original graphic designs inspired by the official colours of the Nike Women’s 10KM and by the passion, determination, and collective spirit of the thousands of women who took part in the event.

The two stylised images of a woman holding a flag are meant to symbolise not only victory, but also determination and the desire to always strive for the very best. The aim was for the graphics to capture the spirit of the women taking part in the race: energetic, focused, driven, colourful, and above all, having fun while pushing themselves towards their goals.

The collaboration formed part of the international Nike Women’s Race Series, which at the time brought together runners across major cities worldwide, including Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Mexico City, San Francisco, Seoul, Stockholm, and Toronto.

The Milan race took participants through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, from Piazza XXV Aprile and Piazza Duomo to the Castello Sforzesco, Parco Sempione, Arco della Pace, Bosco Verticale, and Piazza Gae Aulenti. Designed as both a functional item and a collectible keepsake, the race bag became a visual expression of the event’s vibrant atmosphere and of the shared experience that united thousands of women on race day.
